Earth Day

Very happy Earth Day to you! Today was an amazingly beautiful day so a friend and I took a trip to the Tallahassee Museum. The Tallahassee Museum (Jr Museum to locals) is a 50 + acre museum dedicated to Florida's history and unique wildlife. The land is right off a lake and is kept mostly natural to house resident animals that are all native to the area. It is a wonderful way to see bobcats to bald eagles close up. All the birds are rescues that would be unable to live in the wild.
One of the river otters was doing laps of it's pool by doing backflips

The hawks were stunning
This lovely lady is 33 years old and has suffered two breaks on the same wing in her lifetime

Several frogs were chilling in the pond in the eagle area

Red Wolf
The bobcats were particularly playful today. We watched this one run all over chasing butterflies and playing with the downed branches.

Florida's state animal, the Florida Panther

It was just outstandingly beautiful today and such a nice temperature

I had to wear my skirt with squirrels since it is such a great location for squirrel watching. I did get some photos of a white one that I will share later this week.

Gray foxes are one of only two canids that can climb trees. It's kind of fun to point them out in trees to people that aren't expecting them to be there. The gray foxes share an area with the skunks but we didn't get to see any skunks.
Alligator siblings

I took so many pictures today that I'm going to have to break them up to share.

Lighthouse

Normally on Thursday's I would be sharing a cute outfit post but this week I'm sick in bead. Tuesday I woke up with a sore throat  and it has gone down hill from there.  I'm completely miserable. I just hope the antibiotics start working soon because I have two very important things to go to this weekend. Since I can't share an outfit I'll share some more pictures from our Easter trip.

This is the World's Smallest Police Station.Click on the link for the story.

One our trip we visited not one, but two lighthouses. This one is the Crooked River Lighthouse. We didn't make it during the hours of operation but the park is open till dusk so we still could take some pictures.

Beach

Sunday we had a beach day, it was a friend's birthday and she always does a beach day to celebrate. We met up at St George Island by the Lighthouse and the Blue Parrot. We arrived a little early to take photos of the lighthouse

I picked up this maxi dress at a thrift shop when we went to Panama City to camp but since we left early due to weather I never got to wear it. I'm not the biggest fan of blues or greens but really love this shade of blue, it is the color of Sleeping Beauty Turquoise. Turquoise is one of my all time favorite stones.
I am so in love with these sunnies, I got them on Amazon for $8. I want them in every color, especially the hot pink.

The sun kept hiding behind the clouds and the wind was strong so it seemed much cooler than it really was. I broke down and pulled out my hoodie later in the afternoon to stay warm.
We brought two kites with us to the beach, one stunt kite and our triplane. The beach filled up quickly with people so Hubby didn't want to take out the stunt kite because he was unsure of how much he would be able to control it in the strong wind. Last time we tried to fly the triplane we couldn't even get it off the ground, this time we kept it up for around an hour.
